Course Overview

Design thinking and the management of innovation are essential in ensuring the smooth introduction of new products systems and procedures.

Innovation is recognised as being vital to the economic success of food companies. Innovation plays an important role in supporting new manufacturing and supply chain processes from the concept stage of design thinking through to the end launch stage. Product development and innovation are intertwined and have become a key strategic focus for successful business performance.

Managing innovation within the supply chain is essential to generate effective change, this module will focus on the concept to launch process and will explore contemporary concepts and issues affecting the food industry today from the initial creativity stage through to market launch.
